A study carried out by the IT Job Board revealed that 58 per cent of respondents forecast positions for IT contractors to be increasingly sought after in 2010. Furthermore, the latest KPMG and Recruitment and Employment Confederation report found that 41.7 per cent of businesses had more staff in January 2010 than during the previous month. Jamie Bowler, head of marketing at the IT Job Board, said the beginning of growth in the IT jobs sector is directly related to the increasing levels of confidence displayed by firms in regards to the stability of the economy. He added that the end of the year, when the company carried out its survey, is "usually the period for planning and ensuring that businesses are fully prepared and geared up for the New Year ahead".
